Technical applications of coated fabrics: from protective tarpaulins to inflatable structures

Coated fabrics are used wherever standard materials are no longer sufficient. At the SVITAP plant in Chropyně, we manufacture technical coated fabrics for a wide range of applications – from protective tarpaulins and covers to materials for the mining industry and inflatable structures.

Protection of materials and equipment in demanding conditions

Tarpaulin materials represent one of the key areas of application. They are used as protective covers in environments where they are exposed to mechanical stress, changing weather conditions or intensive use over extended periods.

In practice, they can protect stored materials, technological equipment and other elements that require reliable protection from external influences. When selecting a suitable material, we therefore take into account not only its strength, but also the specific conditions in which it will be used.

Materials for industrial and specialised applications

Technical coated fabrics are also used in specific operating environments, such as the mining industry. Applications include ventilation systems and technical covers.

Each application has its own requirements. Mechanical resistance, long service life, easy maintenance and a suitable surface finish may all play an important role. This is why the material should always be selected according to its intended use and the environment in which it will perform over the long term.

From industrial applications to inflatable advertising structures

Coated fabrics are not used solely in industrial facilities. They are also suitable for the production of inflatable structures, including those used for promotional purposes.

In this case, too, functionality must be combined with appropriate material processing. The finished product needs to withstand repeated use while meeting the customer’s specific requirements.
